The Salvation Army Recycling Programme and The Salvation Army Family Stores sell or give the donations received from organisations and the public to the needy.
The Salvation Army is an international Christian church and charity working in 132 countries and has been serving Hong Kong for over 90 years providing an extensive range of services which spans educational, social as well as Christian. We are called to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ. We are dedicated to supporting the people in need in Hong Kong, Macau and Mainland China without discrimination; and strive to respond to local needs, emergencies and disasters with the love of God.
The Salvation Army Recycling Programme welcomes both
organisation and personal donations of clothing and goods. Donated goods are
sorted, distributed and disinfected, some of which are transferred to people in
need, such as elders living alone, street-sleepers and Comprehensive Social
Security Assistance recipients, while others are sold in The Salvation Army
Family Stores for charity. The net proceeds will go to The Salvation Army for
use across its many community programmes, such as people with spiritual needs,
families facing crisis, children and youth, disaster survivors, people with
disabilities and the marginalised minorities, etc.
